As DeRozan enters his 14th season in the NBA, he is accustomed to shrugging off doubts. But that doesn’t mean that he is immune to annoyance.
DeRozan’s 13th season was his best and newfound respect.
Some doubts persist even after the season ends. DeRozan is 33 years old and has some doubts about how to handle that. He still had a great year, but he’s generally doubted regarding his age.
DeRozan can’t think about slowing down. He thinks it’s amusing, especially considering how he’ll be an elite veteran soon. He met with Chris Paul and LeBron James, who are dominating their games at 37 years old.
With advances in sports science, it will be easier to extend careers into the 30s. DeRozan believes that age is less of a factor when considering new advancements.
DeRozan uses the summer to reconnect with the joy he felt as a child. He trains with young players and stays around his family to do so.
DeRozan would joke about shutting off the lights to get a chance at shooting.
