Martin Boyle
Australia’s Martin Boyle has been disqualified from the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Doha: Due to a knee injury, Australia’s Martin Boyle will not participate in the World Cup.
Marco Tilio will replace him on the 26-player Socceroos roster, the team stated.
Boyle, a player for the Scottish League team Hibernian, suffered an injury about three weeks ago that prevented him from training with Australia in preparation for the tournament in Qatar.
The 29-year-old announced his appointment as the Socceroos’ “vibe manager” in a message that was posted to his Instagram on Sunday.
“I’m not really sure I can express how devastated I am to be cut from the World Cup squad. I gave it my utmost to become in shape, but it didn’t work out.
